Yup, you read it correctly, my dear friends Kristen and Chris are looking forward to welcoming their first child into the world in December. I can't tell you all how excited I am for these two to become parents. They are going to make such an amazing Mommy and Daddy. Logan is a very lucky kiddo! This maternity session is very close to my heart, as are Kristen and Chris. They have been the best of friends to my husband and I for many years. We've been through engagements, marriages, good times, and bad and through it all we know that we can always count on each other. They both stood at the alter with Derek and I as we said our vows, and now we are all hopping into that next chapter in our lives. I like to call this the Munchkin Era. The anticipation of seeing little Logan's face is almost too much to stand! Anyway, I will move on to the "good stuff" as I like to call it... We all went out to downtown McKinney to begin (as did every other photographer in the area). It was such a beautiful day, and a perfect location like this is bound to be swarming with photographers... but I must say that all the photographers out there that day were as kind and respectful as can be. It's wonderful to work around other photographers that respect the profession and other photographers. Whoa... back to Kristen and Chris... after downtown McKinney we moved on to the Arbor Hills Preserve in Plano for our scrumptious sunset photos. I hope you all enjoy!

Thank you so much Kristen and Chris for letting me document this amazing time in your lives together. I already love Logan tons, and I can't wait until he gets here to spoil him rotten!!!!
The Rixford Family

I'm on a roll of some kind. Not sure where this energy is coming from, but I like it! Maybe it's just the excitement of all the wonderful photos and fantastic people that I get to meet along the way. A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of meeting the Rixford Family out in Irving. Mackenzie, Laird, and their daughter Fiona came out to Centennial Park early in the morning, hence the small amount of fog over the pond. I thought the fog was kind of cool in the photos! The temperature was a little crisp, but this family didn't let it phase them at all. Well, little Fiona got cold hands at one point, but she was a trooper. I'm so excited about these photos, and thanks to the Rixford Family for allowing me to explore a new location! Here are my favorites:

The photo on the right puts a huge smile on my face every time I see it. And I love the way Fiona is laying on Mackenzie in the photo on the left. She looks so comfy in Mommy's arms.

Laird can make Fiona laugh in 2.3 seconds.

My favorite sequence of the day!

Laird, Mackenzie, and Fiona, you were all a joy to photograph and I hope you all have a wonderful Holiday season and I hope to see you all again soon!

And so another day begins with another blog. But not just any other blog. This edition is dedicated to the very sweet Hale family. I have known Jenna since high school and I have had the pleasure of photographing her, Nathan, and Hudson before. So when Jenna asked if I would do some photos for them again I was thrilled! Hudson is so sweet and such an inquisitive little boy. I noticed he loves rocks and if he can throw them then we will have some great photos! We met up in Old Town Lewisville for this shoot, and the location was perfect. I'm excited to show off my favorites from this session, so here they are:

I ADORE the way Hudson is looking at Nathan in this photo. You can tell how much he really loves his Daddy.

Hey look, a rock!

Thanks so much to Jenna, Nathan, and Hudson for making me smile! I can't wait to see all of you again!
