I have been sitting on these photos for what seems like forever now. I am so incredibly excited to share all of these photos with you! Getting these photos narrowed down was very very hard. There were so many I wanted to post, but I don't want to give it all away
I will begin with a little background on this couple, Brookley and Jayson. I have been friends with Brookley for 18 years, give or take a few months. We met on a soccer team, and became friends. More importantly we stayed friends. Brookley knows me better than most, and she still likes me! I think... Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that she is one of the best friends a girl could ask or hope for. She is always there if I need to talk, and we can go for a while without seeing each other and once we're together it is like no time has passed. We have been through so much together... even Vegas. I have had the pleasure of watching Brookley meet a boy (yes, a boy... we were in high school), and fall in love with a man. Jayson is the perfect fit for Brookley. I can't imagine either of them with anyone else. They were made for each other. It sounds a little cliche but it is true, and anyone that is around these two can see it. This wedding was a long time coming, but it was more than worth the wait.
Friends and family flew in to Florida for this wedding from across the country. I met so many new friends and we shared the best vacation/wedding together. We all stayed at the fabulous Island Inn on Sanibel Island and couldn't have had better accomodations. The people there were beyond amazing and polite. If you are going to Sanibel for a vacation, especially a family vacation, this is the place to stay. They have rooms like hotels but they also offer cottages. These cottages are amazing, and really beautiful inside! The wedding ceremony and reception were held down the road at Casa Ybel Resort. Talk about breathtakingly beautiful! This resort is something straight from a postcard. In fact, I'm sure they have postcards available. They had the best beach setting for the ceremony, and a perfect sized room indoors for the reception. Last, but certainly not least, is the wonderful Pat Slater. Pat is the brains behind this whole operation and she helped Brookley bring her visions to life. She did such a wonderful job with all the details and hiring the best vendors to make Brookley and Jayson's wedding flawless.
So, I know you are all dying to see these photos and I'm dying to share them, so here it goes. Enjoy!
The view from Brookley's cottage
I may have a small obsession with Brookley's ring.
Brookley was surrounded by the best friends the whole day to keep her calm and stress free.
This is the ever so handsome William. Brookley's cousin, Sandra's son.
Brookley's sister, Lauren working on her speech
Brookley's grandfather had a smile all day!
This is what a stress free bride looks like. Pretty, huh?
Brookley and Jayson's honeymoon suite was decorated perfectly.
The most difficult part of getting dressed for the guys was deciding how many times to roll their sleeves. They settled on three.
Brookley's grandfather's reaction seeing his granddaughter as a bride for the first time.
Brookley trying to explain her bustle.
Each of the bridesmaids gave a toast to Brookley on the way to the ceremony.
Everyone at the pool started cheering as Brookley made her way to the isle!
Her Dad seeing her for the first time.
I love all the cameras!!! Sorry everyone for photobombing your photos...
Oh, and a big shout out to the sailor who brought his sailboat by at the perfect time for the ceremony. Thanks for making the photos even more "beachy"!
Colin took his job as ring bearer very seriously.
Quite possibly one of my favorite photos from the day. I asked the wedding party for one quick photo right after they got down the isle.
The WHOLE wedding party as I like to call it. This is everyone who made the trip to watch Brookley and Jayson get married.
Please excuse the hair... this is what I look like halfway through a wedding. I just couldn't not post this photo. This is Tara, Brookley, myself, and Kendall. All friends since we were about 8. I hope to do this photo again when we're about 80.
The food at this wedding was the BEST food ever. Hands down.
This is what happens when you leave your camera at the table with your friends while you get a plate of food. They steal it and take crazy photos. How do you get back at them you may ask? You post the photos they took on your blog.
The speeches were heartfelt...
Jayson's dance with his mother was very emotional, you can see how much she loves her little boy.
Then the party started! This was a super fun crowd!
The traditional groom and best man dance.
And a perfect way to end the evening.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much to Brookley, Jayson, and all their family and friends for such a wonderful celebration of love. I couldn't have had a better time, and I wish you all the happiness in the world!
