I cannot begin to describe how excited I am to post this proposal! My friend Jeff texted me a little over a week ago asking if I would be available to photograph his proposal to his girlfriend, Nia. To say I was excited was an understatement. I have always wanted to photograph a proposal and never had the opportunity until now. Jeff gave me a few details and the time and address, and I started counting down the hours. The time finally arrived and I headed to Dallas to photograph this amazing event! When I arrived at Tietze Park, I met Jeff and we started the set up. This was so incredible because Jeff and I used to play tennis together in high school... I'm opting to leave out the embarrassing photos (Jeff, you're welcome). To be able to help him with this amazing moment is something I will never forget. As we placed the candles and started talking about where he would stand and how it would play out, I could tell the calm and collected friend I met in the parking lot was turning into an excited and nervous soon-to-be fiancé. As Nia pulled up, the smile on Jeff’s face was priceless. The rest of the proposal played out perfectly and I’m so happy I was able to capture it for this very sweet couple. Here are my favorites:
Jeff and Nia met for the first time on this field for a game of kickball. What better place than here for Jeff to ask her to spend the rest of her life with him.
The set up...
... and the nerves set in. Just before she arrived.
Here is the smile I was talking about. Nia just stepped out of her car.
I think she said "My heart is beating so fast" about 100 times.
Jeff, photo documentation that you did in fact get down on one knee.
I think the best part about a proposal is telling her all the secrets and who was in on it.
THE ring, Jeff did GOOD!
Of course we had to get a ring photo with a kickball.
The soon-to-be Mr. and Mrs. Jeff West!!!
Congratulations to Nia and Jeff!!!! I'm so excited for you guys and have fun with the wedding planning... it can be fun and not stressful I promise!!!! You two lovebirds are adorable.
